I'm not sure it's really hit me yet. I'm going to Scotland.
SCOTLAND. For an entire semester, I'll be approximately 3300 miles away from home instead of the typical 35. Bagpipes, kilts, and the Loch Ness monster instead of arboretums, plenary and black squirrels.
However, I'm starting to come to that realization.
The goodbyes yesterday (and today) to my Haverford friends have started to sink in. With minimal mushiness, I'll say this- I'm going to miss them
a whole lot. Also, having to completely pack up my room in Comfort was super weird. Sure, I do this every year, but not during the winter. Not when some of my friends aren't packing.
Having turned in all of my finals and moved back home to Jersey, I find that I'm now officially enrolled in the University of Edinburgh. In the mail today, I received "urgent news" about sending the school a photo of me so I could have an ID made. I'm officially a student! I've received emails via my new email address (s1163933@sms.ed.ac.uk) about my orientation and even just general emails sent to the student body at the University of Edinburgh. At this point, everything seems set.
My main challenge right now is trying to figure out how to work this blog! As the first post, this serves as my practice. More to come, but obviously not until I'm actually in Scotland.
